Jamberry Berry Sparkler

So I may or may not be able to go to the Ren Faire because of all this rain but if I do....these will be my fairy nails!  I ordered these on a whim with my hostess rewards and actually ended up liking them way more than I thought!

Normally I take all nail pictures in natural light but I added my flash for these because it really brought out the sparkles and made them look more true to life than regular lighting did.
Berry Sparkler is a super cute glitter finished wrap that starts pink and fades to a sparkly silver.  These are just so adorable and I've already received compliments on them.  They feel so magical, playful, and elegant all at the same time!  I'm really glad I stepped outside my comfort zone and got these wraps!

Colourpop Cosmetics Super Shock Eye Shadow in Liberty and I Heart This

When I placed my Colourpop order for the 4 Ultra Matte lipsticks I wanted I needed to put a few more things in my cart to get free shipping so of course I had to give their eye shadows a try!  I heard some good things about their Super Shock shadows and while I like my lips matte I tend to prefer my eyes to obnoxiously sparkle. Oh boy do these deliver.

I decided to get Liberty, a very metallic silver and I <3 This, a shimmery taupe.

Yes I <3 This does have the same name as the pink lipstick I swatched a while back.  It confused me too at first when I was looking up swatches. These swatches are with two coats over no primer.

Liberty is basically tin man silver. It is intense, its shimmery, and its oh so metallic. I love it. It really makes my eyes pop and while it is an intense true silver, I don't think it is all that crazy looking with a bit of a dark matte shadow blended into the crease. It provides a very wearable pop of metal! The formula itself is like butter.  You apply these using the finger so all it takes is to lightly swipe your finger in the shadow and then dab it on the lid.

I didn't do my whole lid with I <3 This because this is the way I see myself wearing it most often, at the inner corner blended into another sparkly pop of color.  It is much more neutral and less intense and metallic than Liberty, but that also makes it an amazing every day shadow.  I was hoping it would be a bit more on the grey side, instead I think it is much golder than I was thinking.  I still think it looks great on me though so I will definitely be getting use out of it!

Overall these shadows are great and I will definitely be buying more if I ever make another Colourpop order!

NYX Cosmetics Prismatic Shadow in Punk Heart

I don't know how I missed the release of these beautiful pigmented shimmery prismatic shadows but somehow I did.  I stopped at ULTA and my friend snagged a bunch so I decided to pick up Punk Heart.  I went into using these knowing absolutely nothing about them so I had no idea what to expect.

So the packaging is super cute.  NYX took the traditional bow clasp design and made the lid silver which I think looks awesome.  However the color in the pan looked much pinker in store.  When I bought it I thought I was getting a raspberry shimmer, not a purple one.  After bringing it home I noticed that in indoor light it looks a bit more pink while in natural light it is very very purple.

Because of the interesting prismatic effect I decided to swatch this a few ways to determine the best way to wear it.  The top swatch is over my Mary Kay eye primer, this is also how I ended up putting it on my lids.  Next I put it over NYX Milk.  I think this really took away from the prismatic shimmer and instead made it a bit more matte.  For some this may be a good thing, for others...don't put it over Milk.   Finally I used it wet with no primer.  It looked pretty similar to the dry over primer swatch however it did not last as long.  Therefore to get the best color payoff and longevity definitely use it over only a primer.

What I love best about this shadow is that I can throw it on all over my lid and pull of an interesting smokey eye, making it look like I actually tried. It naturally looks darker on the deeper parts of your eye and lighter on the parts that stick out, creating a natural halo effect. This is perfect for lazy days when you want to look like you put in effort. It is very easy to blend and I also I did not experience any creasing or fading when placed over primer.
On my lips is City Color Cosmetics Creamy Lip Stain in Flirtini.

Overall I really like this shadow and I may get another one.  I'm thinking either Mermaid or Golden Peach, I haven't decided yet. I'm such a sucker for pretty shimmer shadows.

Mary Kay Intense Purple Eye

Today I'm going to share with you an intense purple eye I did using my 3 purple Mary Kay eye shadows!

So to do this look I used Shimmering Lilac, Iris, and Sweet Plum

Swatched left to right is Sweet Plum (slight shimmer), Iris (matte), and Shimmering Lilac (super shimmer). There is a line of Lorac behind the scenes primer underneath to show the color difference between bare skin and over primer.

And here it is! I love these three colors together.  This was actually my first time using Shimmer Lilac. I like it however if you want color payoff you have to use it wet.  Use it dry only if you want a very subtle purple shimmer.  To create this look I put shimmering lilac on the lid, iris in the crease, and sweet plum at the outer  corner.
