Philadelphia Film Festival Look

My step uncle did graphic work on a Holocaust documentary that was shown today at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival.  It was very somber, intense, and well executed. For this event I wanted to do a classy look that would go well with my white flowered dress.

I chose a classic wing and for flair added some Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liner and MAC Violetta. On my lid is Urban Decay's Sin, in my crease is NYX matte eye shadow in Haywire, and for a highlight I used Strange from Naked 3.

Here is a shot of my dress.  This was my first time wearing it and I love it so much!

Sorry its blurry but here is my friend and I at the festival waiting for the movie to start!  She is rocking NYX Macaron in Pistachio!

Summertime Goth Look

I picked up Wet n Wild's Pagan Angel not too long ago and really wanted to wear it regardless of the fact that its summer.  Therefore to make it work I paired this awesome black lip with a dark but colorful eye and a bright teal summer dress!

I love this look and I loved wearing it out.  Its cute but also still very shocking, I had a lot of fun with it.
To get this look I put Neptune from BH Cosmetics galaxy chic palette on the inner corner of my eye, then put Savage on my lid and Urban on my outer corner and crease, both from UDs Electric Palette. There is also a little bit of UDs eyeshadow in zero blended into my crease.  I then took a Flormar sparkly green eyeliner and lined under my eye.   I finished with a wing using my new Jesse's Girl liquid liner from the June Ipsy bag and lined my eyes using NYX Gel liner in black.

And here is a smile picture because you can't be too serious when wearing black lipstick :P

Finally here is a picture from my Instagram of the dress I wore this look with! I think I rocked the black lip quite well :)

Also this guy asked me out and officially became my boyfriend the day I wore this look :) <3

Two Toned Speckled Nails

A friend of mine has had the Maybelline ColorShow Polka Dot nail polish for quite some time and I absolutely loved the results.  Reminds me of abstract art. I was at the drug store recently and when I saw it I had to pick up! Here is my favorite nail look I've done so far using it!

First I painted the top half of my nails with Zoya's Noot.  Then I put two coats of Maybelline's Pretty in Polka over top.  It is a sheer pink filled with hexagonal specs of black and light pink. Very cute, can't wait to experiment more with this cute top coat. Be aware that it will change the color of your polish, which for me was a plus it turned the grey into a beautiful dark purple!

Wet n Wild Fergie Lipstick in Pagan Angel

I've wanted a decent black lipstick for quite some time but didn't want to have to spend more than $5 for it.  When I heard that Wet n Wild now made one I snatched it as soon as I was at the drugstore!

Overall I am quite pleased with this lipstick.  It goes on easily and is definitely black.  It does seem to feather quite intensely but I haven't tried to wear it with a lip primer or liner so hopefully that will take care of the bleeding.  My current goal is to muster up the courage to wear it out of the house.

Where to buy: Drugstore
Price: $3.50

NYX Macaron Lippies in Pistachio and Violet

When I first heard that NYX was coming out with an affordable line of brightly colored lipsticks I was SO EXCITED,  As soon as they were available online my friend and I placed an order.  Unfortunately because of my appendix and Turkey I am only now able to finally swatch them for you.

First up is Pistachio.  I bought this just because I had never seen anything quite like it before.  It is almost a light teal color.  Its very unique and pretty and my boyfriend says I look great in it and should wear it out in public.  We'll see if I can get there :P
The application of this lipstick is decent. It has great coverage but is a little bit patchy.

Because of my purple lipstick addiction of course I had to pick up Violet.  I love this color sooooo much and have worn it quite often since getting it.  It lasts for quite some time...about 4-6 hours which is very impressive for a $6 lipstick. It goes on very pigmented and even.

And finally here is the color you get when you mix Pistachio and Violet together. Its almost like a lavender light blue.  Vert interesting and very pretty.
I really want to pick up a few more and experiment with even more mixing!
Do you have a favorite shade?

NYX Butter Gloss in Merengue

So I loved the Creme Brulee Butter Gloss that came in my June Ipsy bag so much that I ran to my nearest drugstore and picked up another color.  I decided on Merengue and snagged the very last one! :D

I like this one just as much as Creme Brulee, maybe even more.  It has a nice amount of color and the light pinkish color is nicely flattering on my skin. I am rarely ever disappointed by NYX.  I will definitely be getting some wear out of this. I may possibly even consider getting a third color.  Oh I forgot to mention they also smell like dessert!!

Where to buy: Target, drugstore, Ulta
Price: $5

Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Metalhead

My friend picked up Urban Decay's Heavy Metal Glitter Liner in Metalhead for me while I was in Turkey. It was on sale for I believe only $4-6 which was awesome. It goes on precisely and the sparkle can be made more intense by layering.

For this to be on sale I'm thinking that the liner must have gotten reformulated.  I really like this one so if the new ones are even better then I might seriously consider getting another...I just wish they didn't cost so much.

Where to buy: Urbandecay.com, sephora
Price: $19

June 2014 Ipsy Bag Review

I'm not doing a review for May's bag simply because I wasn't thrilled with anything in it except for the sunscreen, but that doesn't really make for an exciting blog post.  Therefore I am skipping to the June bag which was wonderful and amazing.

1.Be a Bombshell Lash Out Mascara

This mascara didn't clump but it didn't offer much as far as length or volume.  The brush also isn't anything special.   This is the same price as the Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara I use almost every day, and performs severely worse. Overall its pretty lack luster and while I will use it for days I want more natural lashes but I definitely would not buy this.

Where to buy: beabombshellcosmetics.com
Price: $15

2. Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray

I unfortunately do not have much to say about this simply because my hair isn't long enough to get any use out of it.  It does smell nice, like coconut. Once my mom gets back from Turkey I'm sure she will use it but until then it will sit around the house unused.

Where to buy: Ulta, Drugstore, marcanthony.com
Price:  $8.99 ($3.25)

3. NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee

I was super impressed with this product.  I was already looking into buying one but held off when I found out I was getting one in my next Ipsy bag.  First of all I can rarely find a nude that looks decent on me but this one definitely does.  I Love the color and will definitely be pairing it with some crazy Elecctric Palette looks.  It also goes on very easily, isn't sticky at all, and feels extremely moisturizing.  I would definitely buy this because I already have gone out and bought another color! Haha!

Where to buy: Target, Drugstore, Ulta
Price: $5

4. Jesse's Girl Waterproof Liquid Liner

So I keep hearing that this eye liner explodes for some people upon opening.  Well I've opened it about 5 times and I've still witnessed no explosions.  It is a huge shame if that is seriously an issue because I absolutely adore this liner.  It is so easy to use, I can make crazy thin lines, and can do a perfect wing very quickly.  It also seems to last for quite some time.  I'll wait to see how many more people have issues with this but I'm seriously considering buying this to replace my Stila liner I used to use.

Where to buy: Jessesgirlcosmetics.com
Price: $6.99

Here is an eye look I did using the Be a Bombshell Mascara and the Jesse's Girl liquid liner.  As you can see teh liner is awesome and the mascara is...well...not. The eye shadow is Revolt, Urban, and Jilted from the Electric Palette.

5. Skinn Olive & Enzyme Cleanser

I have nothing bad to say about this cleanser.  It smells nice and seems to remove all my makeup.  It also has a more creamy consistency which I prefer over an oily runny one.  I did wake up with a pimple this morning but I am unsure if they are related.  Further testing is required.  I don't think I'd buy it but I will enjoy using it while I have it.

Where to buy: skinn.com
Price: $24 ($12)

Total price of bag: $42.25
So I got over $40 worth of product for $10.  Seriously Ipsy how are you so amazing. Haha!

I'll Be Back Soon!

Sorry for the lack of updates but my phone camera is so horrible. I decided that I would rather wait until I can submit high quality content rather than posting things that I can't be proud of.  I do have a little update for you though! Turkey has been so much fun but I am definitely ready to head home, see my friends, and start a summer job. I want to share some of my makeup looks that I have been posting to my Instagram since being here.

Look I did for an Arch Enemy concert.  I used Jilted from the Electric Palette and NYX gel liner to get this look.  On my lips is Revlon matte stain in Sultry.

Here I am wearing my new European lipstick. Its a light purple by Flormar.  I will have a more indepth swatch and review of this when I get home.

My very first manicure!! I chose OPI's Do You Lilac It? I plan on buying this color as soon as I can, I love it!

Here I wore MAC Russian Red with my Colorsmash hair chalk in Rags to Riches. I would love to get it permanently died like this....

Here i am wearing a NYX Macaron Lippie in Violet.

This is an Electric Palette look using Fringe, Thrash, and Urban.  Definitely a fan.

And this is me today! I used Shiro Cosmetics in Mother of Dragons and Not Very Effective on my eyes and then used NYX gel liner to make a double wing! This was my first time trying a double wing and I love how it looks!  I'm also wearing that Flormar light purple lipstick which happens to match my OPI nail polish.

I hope you enjoyed!
