Jamberry Silver Floral

Four months ago when I attempted to apply my first ever Jamberry nail wrap I had a very very abysmal time.  It was wrinkly and horrible and I felt really discouraged.  Little did I know that I had started with a metallic finish wrap, which are the absolute hardest to apply.  Now its been four months and I wanted to reshow you Silver Floral, over the same nail polish as last time so you can see how nice metallics can actually look, haha!

This wrap is so gorgeous especially over dark polishes.  Like last time this is Zoya's Belinda.  The dark makes the silver shine so wonderfully, and it really catches the eye.  I love this wrap and is at the moment my favorite clear one that I've used.

Here is a comparison, my current attempt on the left and my first ever attempt on the right.  Hopefully you can see that my left attempt is barely attached at the base, there are wrinkles all up the side, and a large one at the tip.  This wrap lasted about two days.  However now I have found that the baggy method, where you pull down tightly with a baggy over the nail while you heat, makes applying metallics as easy as any other type of wrap.  It gets out wrinkles that won't come out with your finger or a cuticle pusher and it really helps seal down the edges.  I may make my own application video soon to show you all how I like to apply my wraps.

Jamberry Purple Mini Polka

I know another long gap between posts....There is a reason, I swear!  I went back to campus last week after visiting home and.....forgot my laptop charger.  So I was able to take some pictures but unable to get them on my laptop because of it being dead and everything.  Then I went on a long vacation to Seneca Lake in New York with the family and my friend.  Lots of wine and boats, it was a great time! :)
Anyway here is a nail wrap that is part of the Going Going Gone! which means it is getting retired at the end of August.  This is the only polka dot design that they have that I like so I'm sad to see it go but hopefully it gets replaced by something even better!

I had these on for about 5 days before I got around to taking a picture so there is a bit of wrinkling occurring, which really seems to happen when the humidity is so high and I sweat as soon as I walk outside....sigh.

Anyway I had my Jamberry party and got $250 which means I get the August hostess exclusive and a bunch of discounts! YAY!!!

Look forward to some makeup posts! I bought a few fun things to share with you!

Black and White Nail Art Featuring Jamberry's Smitten

So a few days ago my mom hosted an online Jamberry party and the hostess sent out free samples to anyone who asked.  Smitten was the sample I received so I used it to create this black and white mixed mani! I ended up buying four wraps during the online party so prepare for me to be reviewing and posting those! I'm all about this new nail wrap trend.

The sample of Smitten I got was actually the smallest size meant for the pinky but because I have very thin nails I was able to wear it on my pointer finger.  Luckily the jams are easy to cut so its no problem trimming them down a bit to get the perfect fit on my nail. For this look I first painted all my nails with Flormar's matte nail enamel in M02 Satin Black which I picked up in Turkey.  Obviously I put top coat over it so the matte effect is lost but its my only black nail polish at the moment....I then stuck on my nail wrap.  Application went much better this time since I used the baggie method and an eraser to help apply pressure.  Finally I took my white nail art pen from Sephora's nail kit and drew on the designs.

I'm all about this manicure and I would definitely do this again.  I can see myself using Jamberry as accents and doing my own nail art to create a mixed mani fairly often.

Cartoon Nails

So I hadn't even really expected to do this.  I had painted my nails with the Lancome polish my  boyfriends mom gave me and then a day later got really bored and randomly started outlining my nails in black.  I then realized that I was only a few dots of white away from making them look straight from a comic book.

I began by painting my nails with Lancome's 147M Rouge Valentine.  I then outlined them with a black Sephora nail art pen.  Finally I added the white highlights with the white version of said pen. They are both from Sephora's nail art kit which I really like so far.

I think these have the neatest effect from farther away. This is a cute idea but I fear the concept is lost on and not noticed by a lot of people.  Not sure if I'd bother doing this again.

Valentine's Day Nails

Ok yeah I know Valentine's Day was a while ago but with my camera dying I kind of have a backlog of posts. Oops! So even though its past here are my nails that I did for Valentine's Day!

For the base I used Formula X in Voodoo which is a absolutely gorgeous light metallic pink.  Then I took Demi by Zoya which is a dark berry shade and tipped each of my nails except for my ring finger where I instead drew a cute little heart.  I couldn't take this picture until a few days after Valentine's Day so I had to do a bit of touching up, that's why they look a little less than perfect.  Regardless I love my nails and I love these two polishes. Combined they make the perfect cute girly nail design.

Nail Design Using OPI My Voice is a Little Norse, Miami Beet, and Zoya's Noot

My current nail adventure came about by chance.  I had a vision and it just kind of took a completely different turn.  Initially I was just going to do the pink nails with the silver glitter but because My Voice is a Little Norse does not cover opaquely it looked a bit strange.  In order to save my manicure I took Noot, a dark grey, and turned the statement sparkle into an accent stripe.  Overall I think they looked pretty cute.

However because I put the grey over the sparkle it acquired a bumpy texture upon drying.  I think this would have looked much better if I had done the sparkle strip over top of the pink and grey.  Live and learn!
Also Miami Beet looked much redder on my nails than it does in the bottle, which I was a little bummed about because it was supposed to match my dress.

These nails were done to match my dress for a New Years Eve dance.  Here is my boyfriend and I looking fancy :)
On my lips I'm wearing OCC Lip Tar in Black Dahlia.

Two Toned Speckled Nails

A friend of mine has had the Maybelline ColorShow Polka Dot nail polish for quite some time and I absolutely loved the results.  Reminds me of abstract art. I was at the drug store recently and when I saw it I had to pick up! Here is my favorite nail look I've done so far using it!

First I painted the top half of my nails with Zoya's Noot.  Then I put two coats of Maybelline's Pretty in Polka over top.  It is a sheer pink filled with hexagonal specs of black and light pink. Very cute, can't wait to experiment more with this cute top coat. Be aware that it will change the color of your polish, which for me was a plus it turned the grey into a beautiful dark purple!
