Jamberry Black and White Quad

I needed some nice dark nails for the Epica concert I went to last Tuesday so while browsing through my Jamberry collection these stood out to me from the start.  Black and White Quad is a really simplistic but eye catching design featuring different stripes of black, white, dark, and light grey.

I have to say....don't skip the application step of applying alcohol to your nails.  I skipped this step because I was in a hurry to get ready before the concert and they started wrinkling right away, and the next day it got even worse. Take your time!  If you skip any of the important Jamicure steps you're gonna have a bad time.
Regardless of my little mistake I absolutely love this design and would definitely buy it again.  It is classy and simplistic and just really really nice.

Here are my nails with my entire face and outfit for the concert.  I think they went perfectly with the aesthetic I was trying to achieve.

Kat Von D Ink Liner in Woolf

Well it's over...my week long of non stop studying is done and my exam is over.  Hopefully I passed.
To celebrate here is a little review for you guys! I'm going to be spending the next few days relaxing with my boyfriend before my lab rotation begins.  Yay!

Today I'm reviewing an eye liner that I got a little bit ago that I have seriously been loving.  Introducing Kat Von D's Ink Liner in Woolf!
When she posted her new liquid liner swatches on Instagram I knew I had to have Woolf for two reasons.  One I love grey.  It is my brown.  I've been wanting a more muted liquid liner for quite some time. Second I wrote a 10 page paper on Virginia Woolf for AP English back in high school so she holds a special place in my heart. Haha!
In the swatch above I drew three lines, the top is the thickest I could get in one stroke, the middle is a natural line, and the bottom is the thinnest line I could do consistently.

I like this liner because it is absolutely perfect for when I am wearing light clothing and also want to do my makeup a bit lighter.  Sometimes bold black wings just don't work....so for that time I can do bold grey wings! Yay!
Now what I like about this is that it goes on smoothly, its easy to control, and I can get a super tiny point with it. The color is opaque and will go over eye shadow.  Even eye shadows that are a darker color!
What I don't like about it is that it is a bit hard to get a thick line.  The felt tip brush is so thin that coloring in thick bold wings and liner can be a bit annoying and time consuming.
Overall I really like this liner and would have bought more if some of the other colors appealed to me a little better.  With that price tag I can't afford to be buying them willy nilly.
On my lips is Revlon Balm Stain in Honey,

Just because its a more muted liner color doesn't mean you can't have some fun with it!

NYX Cosmetic's Wicked Lippie in Cold Hearted

I've actually had this for quite some time but just completely forgot to review it because unfortunately I do not wear it near often enough.
But let me tell you, I love this color.
I cannot pull off black lipstick but I feel like I can wear this.
The shimmery grey is just so much more forgiving than a pure dark black.

As for wear this does definitely lack.  It is very creamy and not drying whatsoever.  However that also means it is very slippery and gets all over my teeth.  The wear time is also not that great when worn alone.  I generally wear it over NYX's lip pencil in Blackberry, this helps even out application and also improves its lifespan.
Overall I really really love this shade.  Its very unique and the metallic effect is just gorgeous.  I just wish it had better staying power.

Monochromatic Sparkly Nail Design

Because I'm obsessed with OPI's My Voice is a Little Norse I did yet another overly sparkly nail look! And I know I will be using it again next weekend for a manicure I'm doing for a special dance. I love this color <3

To do this look I painted my nails with Zoya's Noot, a very dark grey. Then I carefully took Norse and made a half moon at the base of my nail and then a curved tip at the top of my nail to have a slightly curved strip of Noot showing through.  This mani was super cute and easy and I could definitely see doing it again with different base colors.

Ulta Extreme Wear Gel Eye Liner in Smoke and Strut

I don't have a ton of experience with gel eyeliners.  My first one was  Maybelline's in black and it dried out very quickly so my opinion of them was pretty low.  Then I qualified to get a free Ulta gel liner through the rewards program so I picked up Smoke not really expecting much.  I fell in love and picked up Strut a little bit later when it was on sale for half price.

I've had these for close to a year now and they are still buttery and smooth.

Smoke is a dark almost black grey which is nice because I'm pale and sometimes pure black can be a little too strong.  Strut is a deep purple that isn't in your face which is perfect for when I just want to bring out the green in my eyes and not be all HEY LOOK MY EYELINER IS PURPLE.

Strut is on top and Smoke is on the bottom.  I almost always do a wing with these colors.  I use the brush  that came with the dried out Maybelline gel liner. If I ever run out of these I would definitely get another, but there is so much product I don't think that is ever going to happen. Love them!
