Shiro Cosmetics A Girl and A Cat Tinted Balm

I am embarrassed to admit how long I've had this lip balm and kind of forgot it existed....I recently found it again and remembered how adorable it was!  I am a bit bummed that Shiro got rid of their opaque lip products and now only offers these lip balms or glosses.

I had to get this one as its Kiki's Delivery Service themed which is one of my all time favorite movies.  I even cosplayed as Kiki last year! How can I say no to a purple lip product with a picture of Jiji on it? I can't.
This applies very easily and definitely leaves more pigment on the lips than the hand swatch would lead one to believe.  As you can see it turns my lips a very pleasant berry shade. I think it is very flattering and is a perfect choice for days I want to add color but not deal with lip upkeep.  It will last a few hours as long as you don't eat so I generally only throw this on if I won't be eating for a bit. It is very moisturizing and feels nice on the lips. It also has a slight smell to it, the website says its vanilla, its very nice and not overpowering.

I would definitely recommend these lip balms if you like this kind of lip product finish! They are all so fun and Miyazaki themed.  I'd probably own them all if they were matte liquid lipsticks! Unfortunately tinted balms aren't my go to, but I will enjoy this one. If I ever did buy another it would probably be the Princess Mononoke themed With Eyes Unclouded deep red shade.

Spirited Away Inspired FOTD

For Valentine's Day one of my presents from my boyfriend was a Miyazaki shirt from Teefury.  It features Haku and Chihiro from Spirited Away in a cute heart shaped design. Upon wearing it for the first time I of course had to match my makeup to it.  That wasn't even a question.

Here is a close up of the shirt.  So adorable! :3

I am first off going to apologize for the lack of blending but I don't know if it was the eye shadow or my eye lid or even my eye primer but whenever I tried to blend the red it just disappeared and left a bald spot on my eye.  I was so frustrated I just patted it on and left it.  This did not happen the last time I used Hisster Prynne so I have no idea what went wrong.

Anyway to do this look I put Hisster Prynne by Hello Waffle Cosmetics on my lid.  Then I blended Skinny Dip by NYX cosmetics into my crease. Under my eyes I used Comet from BH Cosmetic's Galaxy Chic palette as a liner. I then finished with a wing and mascara!  On my lips is Wine Room by Wet and Wild.

And here is my face with the shirt! I love it so much.  I only wish Teefury shirts weren't so tight around the neck.  :(
I get a women's medium and they just barely fit around my head, shoulders, and bust, but then have tons of baggyness around my waist.  A large would probably fit better up top but then it would be so baggy around my middle I might as well just have gotten a men's shirt.  Oh well.

Oh also notice my custom made Kamelot earrings from Artscow!  I just ordered a custom Kamelot dress and Nightwish tank top as well.  I'm really really hoping they come out ok! I'm so excited!!

Subtle Anime Makeup for Cosplaying

So this past Sunday was J1 Con in Philadelphia.  I decided to go since I had never been to an anime convention before and I had a Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service costume leftover from last Halloween.

I thought maybe some of you would like to see how I subtly made my eyes look slightly larger without going crazy overboard.

I started with a very neutral eye.  I used Strange from Naked 3 on the lid and Haywire from the NYX matte collection applied very lightly in my crease.  Then I took NYX Milk and thickly lined my lower lashline.  Next taking a black liquid liner I extended my upper lashline down further and drew a wing.  Then I lightly drew a fake lower lashline under the Milk to create the effect of a slightly larger anime eye. Pretty easy and fairly cute without being obnoxious.

Here are some pictures from the convention!

Here is a super cute selfie I took before heading to the convention.

My friend didn't have a  costume so he put together a last minute Jiji outfit.  The look on people's faces as they asked where my cat was and I pointed to him was priceless. :)

Here is just me being really awkward because I didn't know how to pose or what to do when others kept asking for pictures.

This guy was hilarious. Omg. He was Sylveon, heavyweight world champion and never broke from character.  So funny.

These two made some adorable soldiers from Attack on Titan

These three had an incredible Twilight Princess cosplay.  They ended up winning best in show and they definitely deserved it.  Just wow.

Overall I had fun and I think I would definitely go to another convention if I ever had the chance.
