Happy St Patrick's Day!

What is St Patrick's Day without a slightly over the top green eye look??? No fun, that's what!
I don't really like how I look with so much green on my eyes.  For me green is more of an accent color, therefore I only dress up my eyes in green once a year.
I'm not 100% sure if I have any Irish in me but there is evidence that points to my last name on my father's side being a variation of an Irish name that could have been Americanized during immigration. So...yay for maybe being part Irish!

I used only green products on my eyes except for my mascara.  It was fun but this is definitely a once a year only FOTD.

To achieve this glorious green look I started by taking my Electric Palette and placing Freak all over my lid. Then I took Fringe and applied it in my crease and inner corner to create a halo effect. I also lightly blended Fringe and Freak under my eye with Freak being closer to my inner corner. Next I finally got to use Ulta's precision liquid liner in Forest Green (which is seems they are already discontinued...that was fast.  Probably for good reason, they aren't that great) and used it to line my lid and create a small wing.  Finally I grabbed my NYX liquid crystal liner in Crystal Jade to add a line of green glitter to my lower lashline.

Also take notice to my super cute shamrock earrings. I have no idea where I got them but without fail I have worn them once a year for St Patrick's Day for the past 5 years.
On my lips is Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick in Mystic Plum.

Whether you actually celebrate St. Patrick's Day or just use it as an excuse to wear green with crazy green makeup, I hope you have a happy one!

Pink and Green Birthday FOTD!

Happy Birthday to me! Even though I have a week worth of finals ahead of me, I never let it get me down.
I was planning on reviewing my Sephora birthday gift for today but because I left it at home, I won't be able to use it until the semester is over...I'm so good at life....sigh.
So instead, in honor of my birthday I wanted to share with all of you one of my favorite looks!

I feel so insanely fabulous every time I wear this.  The colors can also easily be changed up to match whatever outfit you are wearing.
To do this I first put Ever in Your Favor by Shiro Cosmetics all over my eye lid.  Then I take Blackheart from Naked 3 and put it in my crease.  I add a bit of depth to the outer part of my eye using Blackout by Urban Decay.  Next I draw a wing with my (brand new just opened!!!!) Jesse's Girl liquid liner.  I finish it up with a sweep of Fringe from the Electric Palette under my eye.
On my lips is NYX lip liner in Plum with Starlooks Odetta on top.

With a green cardigan and my dark pink Turkish scarf I feel awesome today!

NYX Liquid Crystal Liner in Crystal Jade

I love NYX's extreme liquid liners so during a 40% off sale I snagged one of their crystal liners as an impulse buy.  I chose the color Jade because it was just so pretty and really caught my eye. This product is basically a liquid glitter liner, sort of like Urban Decay's Heavy Metal liners but not quite as good.  However they are much much less expensive.

Not intended for use around eye....watch out I'm about to be a first world anarchist.

I use this a lot either to enhance my regular liner or to add a bit of glam under my eye.  Since this is not fully opaque it works great over eye shadows.  I like putting green under my eye and then dabbing this on top to create a glitter effect.
As far as comparing it to UD's version, well it stays just as long but the formula does a very strange thing.  Once it dries it gets sort of pulley...I don't know how else to describe it.  You can feel it pull on your eye lid sometimes when you blink or look to the side.  It isn't painful, just sort of annoying, especially if you are the type of person who hates to feel like they are wearing makeup.
If you can get over the weird formula this is a great affordable alternative to the Heavy Metal liners!

Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil in Ultra Olive

My Ipsy post was getting kinda long so I decided to review this item separately.  I didn't get this in my Ipsy bag but my mom did.  She already has a few olive eyeliners so she told me to take it, and since I love Starlooks there was no way I was going to say no!

I'm not usually an olive kind of person but I do rather like this color.  I think it helps bring out the green in my eyes.  Starlooks liners are very buttery and glide on easily, which is very important for me as I hate anything that tugs at my eye.  Full pigmentation can be acquired with only one sweep and they sharpen well.  My only complaint would be the glitter falls out a bit throughout the day because if I wear it under my eyes I get super glam upper cheekbones.  This doesn't bother me too much as I just wipe it away whenever I notice it happening but for someone who can't touch up throughout the day, this may be an issue.

I entered this photo into Ipsy's Starlooks liner contest.  Alas it did not win.  It always seems to be a really crappy low quality pic that wins, maybe I should stop trying so hard....

Purple and Teal Graphic Liner FOTD

When I put my favorite flannel on this morning I got the urge to do an eye look to match.  I'm not sure how I got there but I ended up doing a graphic liner of sorts.  I don't have too much experience doing this kind of thing but I still liked how it  came out.

To start I covered my upper lid in Urban from the Electric Palette.  Then I took Blackout by Urban Decay on a small brush and carefully outlined a wing and in my crease.  I only had to use my makeup remover pen 10 times to get this to look decent...Regardless, I then blended Blackout into the purple which looking back I probably should have used a different brush for.  Blending with the flat part of my liner brush was not a good idea.  I finished the look by taking Shiro Cosmetic's Maiden Queen and lining under my eye.
Lip is Mary Kay gloss in Berry Tart.

Mini Shiro Haul! Red Wedding, Maiden Queen, and a Custom Gloss!

I haven't made a purchase from Shiro in a while and after seeing how Red Wedding looked on my friend I knew it was time.  I picked up Red Wedding as well as a full size of Maiden Queen.

This gloss. Is. Amazing. I mean, just look at the swatch, it even friggin looks like blood! It wears beautifully on the lips and stays for a decent amount of time.  Its such a beautifully flattering deep red.  It is also fairly easy to apply with the doe foot applicator.

I also picked up Maiden Queen because 1. I love Margaery and 2. I love teal. I wear this under my eyes all the time.  Like basically every day I wear some sort of blueish color you can bet I'm wearing this shadow.  Its so gorgeous. As you can maybe see from the swatch it doesn't get too much more intense over NYX Milk so I generally just wear it alone and it stays pretty well.  For anyone interested on my lips is NYX round lipstick in Castle.

And lastly, this is not my own purchase but one made by my friend who agreed to let me share her lips.  She loves the Red Viper and bought two of the LE eye shadows and this custom gloss as well.  Even though it is no longer available I thought this could be a good reference for anyone looking to get a golden colored custom gloss from Shiro.  Up close it doesn't look like it covers well but from far away it looks just fine.  I also saw her wear this over Kat Von D's Poe and oh my god the gold over the dark blue looked amazing!! If you like gold I would recommend checking out Shiro's custom glosses.

Urban Decay Electric Palette Plays Well With Naked 3

I've been using my new electric palette like crazy but recently realized that I havn't touched my Naked 3 in quite some time.  In order to come to a conclusion I decided to use them both at once! The results were amazing!

From the Electric palette I put Urban in my crease and Freak on my lower lash line.  From the Naked 3 palette I put Buzz on my lid, Darksider in the outer corner, and Strange in the inner corner. I think it created a very exciting but yet subdued look. On my lips is Speak your Mind by Bare Minerals.

I will definitely be using these two together more often in the future!

Sparkly Purple Eye with a Pop of Mint

Since getting the Galaxy Chic palette I finally have some greens and blues to play with so I took today as an opportunity to try some of them out.  I was wearing a green cardigan with a light purple scarf so I did my eyes to match!  I'm usually not a fan of the bright color under the eye look but I think the pop of mint works for me.

To get this look I put Eclipse from Bh cosmetics Galaxy chic palette in my crease.  Then I patted Stila's foil finish eye shadow in Metallic Violet on my lid.  I lined my upper lid with Eclipse and the lower with Comet from the same palette.  Finished with Bare Minerals Lash Domination Mascara

I am seriously loving this look.  Its interesting while not being over the top.  I think it makes my eyes look huge and adorable as well so that's always a plus.  On my lips I'm wearing Bare Minerals Speak your Mind because I'm obsessed with it.

Have a rat-tastic day! <3__)~

Sample Shiro Eye Shadow Swatches

To start I just wanna say I love Shiro Cosmetics and the owner Caitlin.  The products are amazing and she is so sweet and goes out of her way to make her customers happy.  I have collected a total of 12 sample sized shadows that I have pressed (some successfully some not) and put into a single palette.  I also have some of her lipsticks but that is for another post :)

So here they are all pretty and sparkly.  I pressed them all the same way, some pressed perfectly, others just won't hold.  I'm guessing its the formula.  Also most of these aren't even whole $1.00 samples.  I split a few of these with my friend and there was still a ton of product left to press!

Top Row:
Philosopher's Stone (Fullmetal Alchemist): A very pretty red. I received this as a free gift with an order.
Nayru's Love (Legend of Zelda): A light shimmery blue. I received this as a free gift with purchase as well.
Masterball (Pokemon): A Purpley Red. I love this color and would probably repurchase in the future.
Majora's Mask: A sheer sparkly purple. Very pretty but too sheer for me, received as a gift with purchase.

Middle Row:
Not Very Effective (Pokemon): A deep purple with red sparkles. I LOVE this color and have already purchased the full size.
Twilight Realm (Legend of Zelda): A silvery blue.
Alkahestry (Fullmetal Alchemist): This is a light purple with all kinds of blue and purple sparkle.  I used half of my sample to make a custom lip gloss.
Housewife (Fullmetal Alchemist): A shimmery silver.  I received this one as a gift with purchase.

Bottom Row:
Rupee (Legend of Zelda): A green with gold sparkles.  I don't wear green much but its a nice color.
Elite Four (Pokemon): A really nice purple with gold sparkles.  I might repurchase this.
Colonel (Fullmetal Alchemist): A dark blue with gold sparkles.  I only bought this because Colonel Mustang is my favorite character I havn't worn it much, haha.
Rebellion (The Hunger Games): It looks like a almost black purple in the pan but swatches mostly black. This was a gift with purchase.

Where to buy: Shirocosmetics.com
Price: Sample $1, Mini $3.50, Full $5

Affordable and beautiful, I highly recommend anything from Shiro Cosmetics. Look forward to some looks done with these shadows!

Green Eye Makeup Collection

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Because of the holiday I've decided to share swatches of all my green eye makeup. Spoiler alert...there aren't many.  Green is my second favorite color but for whatever reason I rarely incorporate it into my makeup routine.  After swatching all these I'm starting to feel bad for my lonely greens.  I've decided to make an effort to wear them more often!

Brazen Glimmerflage

First up is a Brazen cosmetics eye shadow I got in a Beauty Army box. I unfortunately have not used it yet so I can't really comment on the quality.  I've been having trouble finding something to wear a camo colored green with.  Its a deep green with gold sparkle. Suggestions are welcome!

This is Maybelline's Color Tattoo cream eye shadow in Emerald.  It is a really pretty color and goes on very nicely.  I really need to wear this more.

I have 12 Shiro eye shadows in total and this is among the ones I haven't used very much.  They come loose but I pressed them myself and I would definitely buy from her again.  I picked up a few colors from all of my favorite video game collections.  Rupee is from the Legendary collection based off of the Legend of Zelda.  I plan to do swatches of all the ones I have.

This is the green from NYX's Love In Rio Carnival Del Sol palette.  As you can see its in kind of bad shape as I depotted it and it didn't really go well.  Also this is one of the few times that NYX is a miss for me, the pigmentation just isn't that great.

This is Ulta's Glamazon eye shadow that I got on sale the first time I went to an Ulta store (I live nowhere near any sort of makeup store so I do all my shopping online).  As you can see it is a super dark greenish blue.  I have never worn it as an eye shadow but I use it wet as an eyeliner every now and then and it looks very nice.

This is Graffiti from Urban Decay's Deluxe palette.  I bought it from Ulta on sale.  As with any Urban Decay eye shadow it has great pigmentation and goes on smooth.

This is Vert from Urban Decay's Skull Shadow Box palette.  My mom bought me this palette in early high school when I wore a single color of bright eye shadow all over my lid so this green has gotten a lot of use.  I actually used to just call it "dragon scale green" because..well, it reminded me of dragon scales! Very pretty.

This is Maybelline's limited edition green mascara in Green with Envy.  It is not super intense on my dark brown lashes but it adds a hint of color so I do use this every now and again.

Here is Urban Decay's 24/7 eye liner pencil in Mildew.  My mom got me a mini pack of these in all sorts of shades back in high school.  Unfortunately this pencil has not gotten a lot of use either. :(
.
And that's my green eye makeup collection.  My St. Paddy's day resolution will be to wear more green on my eyes!

In the mean time here is a simple look I did with a few of the products. Rupee is on the lid and Glamazon is in the crease. I also used the Maybelline mascara and the Urban Decay liner.
