Flormar Long Wearing Lipstick in L33

This will be my last Turkish makeup post as I have now shared everything I bought. This last item is my favorite as far as color but unfortunately my least favorite as far as performance.  This was the only lipstick I picked up from Flormar and it is seriously a huge disappointment....

Lilac Gloss or L033 is a very beautiful lilac shade with awesome opaque coverage.  It is from their Long Wearing lipstick collection, which is an absolute joke.  This lasts less than some lip glosses I own.  I can get an hour, maybe two at most from this lipstick.  The formula is so insanely creamy that it just melts right off, even when put over a lip liner. The plus is that when worn over the Flormar No. 218 lip liner it fades decently to a pretty lilacy plum color, I would never risk wearing this alone. Because it is so creamy it is extremely moisturizing and not drying whatsoever. However, if I ever went back to Europe I would not be getting another one of these lipsticks.

Where to buy: Flormar.com
Price: 15,90 TL (about $8)

Flormar Lip Liner in No 218

While in Istanbul I picked up a few Flormar makeup items.  Today I wanted to talk about the lip liner I bought.  As you probably know I have an insatiable purple lip addiction so of course I bought the plum lip liner in Stylish Lilac No. 218.

Its a fairly basic plum color that goes on very easily and pigmented.  For the price I think this is a really great addition to my makeup collection.  However because of the somewhat uneven coverage I would not wear this alone.

Price: 3,95 TL (about $2)

Flormar Glittering Star Eyeliner in No. 510 Teal

This was a random Istanbul, Turkey purchase! Flormar sells these eyeliners for about $2 so how could I pass it up?!

I love wearing Teal under my eyes as a surprise pop of color so when I saw this sparkly eyeliner for sale in Turkey I had to snatch it! Its just sooo pretty!

Here it is both swatched as heavily as possible on my hand and also applied normally under my eye.

It is very easy to apply and doesn't tug at my skin.  However I feel like I have to sharpen it every other time I use it so I'm kind of worried it won't last me terribly long....maybe I should get my mom to bring me back a few more when she comes home from Turkey :)

I also bought this cute little headband thing in Istanbul.  It was $2.50. I got this grey animal pattern and a dark purple one.  It is a piece of cloth with a wire in it, I think it absolutely perfect for spicing up a pixie :)

Price: 3,95 TL (about $2.00)

Pastel Waterproof Volume Color Mascara in Dark Pink

While in Turkey this colored mascara caught my eye.  Its by a brand called Pastel and I bought it in the slightly darker pink shade. At least I think.  The normal pink and the dark pink had such similar cap colors I'm only 80% sure I actually picked up the darker pink....

There is absolutely no identifying color information on the tube besides the cap.  My online searching says this color is no.106 in Fuşya
The formula itself is very very dry and therefore it is a bit hard to build up an intense color.

Instead it gives more of a slight pink tint.  I find the best way to apply it is to apply one coat, wait for it to dry and then apply another one over that.

Overall I'm quite pleased with this mascara.  It isn't as intense as I'd hoped which also makes it a bit more wearable I suppose.  I don't already own a pink mascara so I definitely don't regret this purchase! My mom bought the dark blue and because she is blonde and has lighter lashes it looks seriously intense on her.  I'm a bit jealous.

Price:  17,00 TL (about $8.50)

Flormar Color Madness Fusion Baked Eye Shadow in Missed in Heaven

While in Turkey I made sure to pick up some European exclusive makeup items! First up for swatching is a new item! This is Flormar's fusion baked eye shadow in the shade Missed in Heaven from the 2014 Color Madness collection.

Once I saw that pink I knew I had to have it! My mom even bought one.

As you can see it is primarily a shimmery deep pink with black and light pink swirled within

Here is a swatch of the shadow after running my brush over the entire product.  As you can see over NYX Milk the color actually changes from a mid toned pink to a dark purple! Over Urban Decay's Primer Potion it remains the same color but just sticks a bit better.

On the left here is a swatch of just the light pink and also just the black.  I used all three of these possible colors to create an eye shadow look using this shadow!

On my lid is the main color, in my crease is just the black, and for the high light I used the light pink part. On my lips is BareMinerals in Get Ready.

Overall I really like this color.  It is versatile and with a single eye shadow I can create an entire eye look which makes it ideal for travel!

Where to buy: www.Flormar.com
Price: 19,50 TL (about $9.75)

I'll Be Back Soon!

Sorry for the lack of updates but my phone camera is so horrible. I decided that I would rather wait until I can submit high quality content rather than posting things that I can't be proud of.  I do have a little update for you though! Turkey has been so much fun but I am definitely ready to head home, see my friends, and start a summer job. I want to share some of my makeup looks that I have been posting to my Instagram since being here.

Look I did for an Arch Enemy concert.  I used Jilted from the Electric Palette and NYX gel liner to get this look.  On my lips is Revlon matte stain in Sultry.

Here I am wearing my new European lipstick. Its a light purple by Flormar.  I will have a more indepth swatch and review of this when I get home.

My very first manicure!! I chose OPI's Do You Lilac It? I plan on buying this color as soon as I can, I love it!

Here I wore MAC Russian Red with my Colorsmash hair chalk in Rags to Riches. I would love to get it permanently died like this....

Here i am wearing a NYX Macaron Lippie in Violet.

This is an Electric Palette look using Fringe, Thrash, and Urban.  Definitely a fan.

And this is me today! I used Shiro Cosmetics in Mother of Dragons and Not Very Effective on my eyes and then used NYX gel liner to make a double wing! This was my first time trying a double wing and I love how it looks!  I'm also wearing that Flormar light purple lipstick which happens to match my OPI nail polish.

I hope you enjoyed!

My Week in Istanbul

Hello everyone! I'm sorry it has been way too long since I've posted an update.  My dad, brother, and I came to visit my mom in Istanbul during her job exchange.  After a week my brother and dad went home but I am staying an entire month here!  Now that we are done running around like crazy tourists trying to see as much as we can in a week I can finally sit down and type. The next two posts after this will be updates that I had taken pictures for prior to my Turkey excursion and then after that all my updates for the next month will be done from Istanbul.  Unfortunately I was too nervous to bring my good camera with, therefore all I have for taking pictures is my cell phone and a cheap point and shoot.  I'm really hoping I can still provide some decent quality updates though!
Anyway I thought I'd share with you what I've been doing during my first week in Istanbul!

Day 1
This is the day we arrived so unfortunately we didn't have too much time to do things.  Upon getting there we had an authentic lamb kebab and then went to bed.

Day 2
Today we went to Topkapı Palace which is where the sultans lived.  It was very pretty and a pretty neat experience!

Finished the day with some delicious sea bass on Istiklal street.  There were police everywhere while we were leaving, most likely they were preparing to stop a possible riot.  It was kind of scary....

Day 3

We started the day with a giant traidtional Turkish breakfast! So much food but it was all so delicious!

Then we visited the Basilica Cistern.  It was really creepy and awesome.

At the bottom of two supports are upside down medusa heads.  It is unknown as to why they are here but some people speculate they were stolen from Rome and placed here as an insult to the Romans.

Day 4

Today we visited Chora Church, the largest church in Istanbul.  Luckily when Istanbul became predominately Muslim the church was not destroyed.  As a result it now contains some of the most well preserved and complete frescoes. It was very pretty.

Then we visited the Blue Mosque, the largest mosque in Istanbul.  It was also pretty awesome.  Only thing that sucked was having to wear a headscarf, that got really hot and uncomfortable after a while. My hair is shorter than some of the dudes that were in there, religion is really confusing sometimes.

We also climbed the wall that surrounded what used to be Constantinople.  This was my favorite part only because it was a climb at your own risk kind of deal.  No supports, super steep, and broken stone steps, I would never have been able to do something like this in America.

Day 5

Today was a pretty lazy day. We met up with my mom's coworker and did some shopping.

There are stray cats and dogs everywhere! The dogs just walk right up to you and wag their tails, they are all so friendly and cute!

A nice serene view!

And because this is a makeup blog here is the makeup I did that day! I did a winged liner using Fringe from the electric palette and then used MAC Heroine on my lips.  My mom's Turkish coworker absolutely loves my style and wants me to go to MAC with her to show her what I use :P

Day 6

Today we took a cruise down the Bosphorus Strait all the way to a tiny fishing village along the opening to the Black Sea

Here is a picture of the Istanbul coastline.  So much hill.

This was our view from where we ate lunch.  It was such an amazing photo op!

We climbed all the way up to an old castle, this is my brother looking out over the castle wall at the Black Sea.

And here is the dog we met at the top of the castle, he was such a cheeseball! By the end he was on his back begging us to rub his tummy :)

And here is the makeup I did that day.  Using the electric palette and NYX Milk I put Savage on my lid and then made a pointed outer corner with Urban and blended them together.

Day 7

Today was the day that my dad and brother had to go back to the airport....my mom and I were supposed to go out to eat later that day but unfortunately I caught the cold my mom had earlier in the week and was too sick to leave the apartment.  I'm also spending today being sick so unfortunately I probably won't be creating new blog content today :(
I really hope I get better soon.  At least tomorrow will be two weeks since getting my appendix out so I am feeling very very little discomfort from that anymore!
I can't wait to go shopping for some Europe exclusive makeup! :D

I'd say the only negative thing I have to say so far about Turkey is the fact that Youtube is blocked. What. So stupid.  Of course it's easy to get around, but it  still makes viewing Youtube videos a pain in the butt.

April Makeup Obsession

So its the last day of April....already!! Oh my god.  I graduate college in like 2 weeks. AAAAAH. I'm not ready, not at all :(
Oh well, on the bright side I will be going to Istanbul Turkey to visit my mother after graduation.  I currently have plans to stay for about a month.  I'm not sure how often I will be able to update my blog but I am definitely going to try!! I hope I can find some awesome Turkish brand makeup products to share with all of you! :D

Anyway! My April Makeup Obsession has been pops of color under my eye!  With the temperatures rising I've been looking to add more bright colors to my face.  In the morning I often find myself doing my makeup, staring at my face a while, and deciding that I'm not near colorful enough and adding some blue, pink, or purple under my eye.

Purple on top with a line of blue under my eye has been my go to look lately.  Here I have NYX loose pigment in purple on my lid, eclipse from the galaxy chic palette in my crease, and Mary Kay's Teal me More eye shadow crayon under my eye. I'm pretty sure I have Revlon Balm Stain in Darling on my lips.

I did a similar look for Easter except with BH Cosmetics matte cool purple on my lid and matte cool blue under my eye. On my lips I'm wearing Buxom Lip Polish in Sandy.

On an unrelated note I've rediscovered my love for symphonic and prog metal.  Therefore look forward to makeup looks inspired by these genres!
