Mary Kay Timewise Miracle Set Normal/Dry

So this is more of a show and tell rather than a review simply because this is my very first skin care set so I don't have very much to compare it to.  Before this I used a cheap Ulta cleanser and whatever moisturizer sample my mom had given me.  I have been using this set every day since November and the night solution since May.  If nothing else every morning when I wake up I feel my face and thing holy crap my skin is freaking soft.  I don't really have wrinkles yet so there is not much I can say as far as its anti aging powers so I'm going to leave that part to SCIENCE.  Aka this is what Mary Kay's 12 week clinical trials say about the skin care set:
83% had a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles
25% had an improvementi n skin elasticity
100% had softer more supple skin (oooh yes)
46% improvement in more even skin tone
This set contains a cleanser, a day solution, a night solution, and a moisturizer.  It says it will last 3 months, yeah right I have no idea where they got those numbers from.  I've had mine for three months and the only thing that looks close to being empty is the moisturizer.  I'm also on my second night solution, the first one lasted me 8 months.

First here is the Dry/Normal cleanser.  This set also comes in a Oily/Combination set in which the cleanser will be clear as it contains less moisturizers and more oil fighting ingredients. The little pink dots are little exfoliating beads that provide gentle exfoliation upon each use.

The cleanser suds up on your face like so!

Here is a close up of the night solution.  When pumped those pretty little beads break and provide a fresh dose of peptides to your skin, how nice.  This stuff feels super cool and after using it for a few weeks I noticed the redness in my face improved.

This is to show the consistency of the day and night solution.  The day solution is super runny and I usually squirt it into the palm of my hand while the night solution is a bit more viscous and I usually dispense that onto my finger tip. The day solution contains botanicals that energize the cells and spf 25 to protect against against those stupid uva and uvb rays.  The night solution contains peptides that stimulate collagen to help smooth and firm the skin.  These both contain the heavy duty anti aging ingredients as well.

Here is the moisturizer.  I have been using moisturizer for quite some time before this and every year like  clock work I would get an eczema patch on my jaw and on my forehead once the cold weather began.  I acquired this set in November and only three days after using it my eczema patches disappeared.  I would just apply a little extra to that location and after a week it wasn't even necessary to focus the application anymore.  I WAS SO HAPPY.

Like I said I do not have much to compare this skin care set to but I definitely really like the way it makes my skin feel and will probably continue to use it in the future. I'm already on my second bottle of the night solution!

1920s Makeup Attempt

Today I followed a 1920s makeup tutorial I found on youtube that I will link at the end of this post.  I'm the vice president of my college's swing dance club and in April we are having a 1920s themed charity swing dance.  Here is my first attempt following the tutorial. I think perhaps I could have made my eyes darker but I'm always so nervous about doing my eye shadow too dark and looking like a raccoon.

On my eyes I smudged out Urban Decay's 24/7 eye liner in Zero on my top and bottom lash line then put Mary Kay's Polished Stone all over my lid and crease and finished by patting Mary Kay's Black Pearl onto my lid.

On my lips is MAC Rebel. Drawing inside my natural lip line at the edges was really awkward and will definitely take some practice.

Here is a picture of all the products I used!
And the tutorial video can be found here.

BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Palette

AAAH!! I'm so happy, I've had this palette on my wishlist for quite some time.  Ever since I got a sample of Aphrodite in an Ipsy bag, to be exact. I know I'm going to use the crap out of the pinks, reds, purples, and blues.  I'm also hoping that I will start to branch out and incorporate some oranges and browns into my looks. How could I turn down wearing Mars on my eye lids?

Anyway, the palette it self is so nice.  The packaging is freaking adorable. It's purple and has space girls with  crazy eye shadow on it.  How could it possibly get any better?  As for the eye shadows just looking a them is hypnotic.  So many pretty colors, especially the swirled ones.  Their pigmentation is pretty decent used normal but to really get the most out of these you are going to want to use them wet.  When used wet the pigmentation is out of this world. Sorry.

So here is a look I did using only the shadows in the palette! Of course I did a look that incorporated all three of the purple colors. For a highlight I used Milky Way, on my lid is cosmic, in my crease is eclipse, on the outer corner I patted some Aphrodite, and finally I lined my eyes with Neptune. My eyes are space.
On my lips I'm wearing MAC Rebel about 6 hours of wear time in.

Price: $14 but shipping is insane so realistically like $22

Revlon Lip Butters in Juicy Papaya, Sorbet, Wild Watermelon, and Red Velvet

I have four of the Revlon lip butters and I love every single one of them!  They go on smooth and surprisingly pigmented.  They have a nice sheen to them and are pleasantly moisturizing.  I'm so exciting to be breaking these out again. I wear them all the time in spring and summer.

Revlon Lip Butter Juicy Papaya

Juicy Papaya is one of the few nude lipsticks I own and it is one I wear a lot.  Only problem is that it is very unforgiving.  The tiniest dry patch or imperfection will be highlighted by this lipstick.  I exfoliated the crap out of my lips and I still couldn't get it to be nice. Overall looks freaking awesome from far away...just not so hot up close.

Revlon Lip Butter Sorbet

Sorbet is a super fun pigmented pink. I usually wear this in the summer with nothing but bb cream and mascara.  Its a great statement lip for when you don't feel like doing makeup but still want to look fabulous.

Revlon Lip Butter Wild Watermelon

Wild Watermelon is probably my favorite just because its such an interesting color.  Its a red...but its also a pink...but its also kind of orange.  Basically its amazing.  It may make a nice intro red lipstick for those who wanna start wearing red but are a little hesitant.

Revlon Lip Butter Red Velvet

This is not only the first lip butter I bought but also one of the first lipsticks I bought!  It is a very wearable deep red but for some reason I don't find myself wearing it as much as the others.

Flareon Inspired Eye Makeup

Now for the next installment of my Pokemon Eeveelution eye shadow series, Flareon! This look was a lot more involvd than the last one. This was my first time doing a triple wing and boy was it nerve wracking.  The tiniest little mistake and whoops gotta start over. Luckily no such mistake occurred! :D
Also drawing the little Flareon was super fun and I love how it came out.

To do this look I used Aphrodite from BH Cosmetic's Galaxy Chic palette and Honey  from Urban Decays Deluxe palette. Aphrodite is on the lid, Honey is under the eye and they are both blended together to make an orange smokey look in the crease. I lined my eyes with Stila's Stay All Day Liquid Liner in black and then did the little black wing with Zero from the same Urban Decay Palette. On my lips is Wet n Wild's lipstick in Coral-ine.

Hope you like my flaming Flareon eye!

Ulta Extreme Wear Gel Eye Liner in Smoke and Strut

I don't have a ton of experience with gel eyeliners.  My first one was  Maybelline's in black and it dried out very quickly so my opinion of them was pretty low.  Then I qualified to get a free Ulta gel liner through the rewards program so I picked up Smoke not really expecting much.  I fell in love and picked up Strut a little bit later when it was on sale for half price.

I've had these for close to a year now and they are still buttery and smooth.

Smoke is a dark almost black grey which is nice because I'm pale and sometimes pure black can be a little too strong.  Strut is a deep purple that isn't in your face which is perfect for when I just want to bring out the green in my eyes and not be all HEY LOOK MY EYELINER IS PURPLE.

Strut is on top and Smoke is on the bottom.  I almost always do a wing with these colors.  I use the brush  that came with the dried out Maybelline gel liner. If I ever run out of these I would definitely get another, but there is so much product I don't think that is ever going to happen. Love them!

Price: $4.99
